$2K isnt a lot of money to make per month but I think it kind of draws the line between "hobbyist" and "self employed entrepreneur".
It aint freakin hard to make money in the offline niche. That’s a fact. I’m not saying you can make a ton of money without lifting a finger. I just think people over complicate things.
What do local business owners want?
They want more customers and money, just like you and me. So what is the magical secret code to make business owners see the value in what you do and turn them into paying customers?
SHOW THEM how their new website will bring them new business. Sell them WHAT THEY WANT.
You are not selling them a website. You are selling them an investment in more business.
With that being said, there are ways to make some really quick and easy cash in this business without showing results to the business owner first… if you’ve got the drive.
I just sent out a newsletter to my subscribers and challenged them to make at least $2K within the next month by selling customized website templates.
No, $2k per month will not make you rich, but it will get you started. Then you can focus on the bigger projects delivering more complex and customer pulling websites for business owners. I get $1,500 for a customized wordpress template in my VERY small county. I’m going to show you my blueprint in the coming weeks. But first you must start small.
If you’d like to get a copy of that newsletter, leave a comment below this post and I’ll hook you up. But first, you’ll need to sign up for my newsletter.
XMAS Cash Flipping Business Opportunity Sites Offline
By · CommentsI normally dont post exclusive emails that I send to my subscribers on here as blog post, but I want people to see this technique I’ve been using to flip website to people in my local area.
It puts a nice twist on the offline niche as business owners aren’t your only ideal prospect with this technique. Here is a portion of an email I just sent to my subscribers. If you like what you see and would like to get more tips like this in your inbox on a weekly basis then SUBSCRIBE to my newsletter HERE.
Email:
First off, I want to apologize for not sending any emails over the past 2 weeks. I’ve gotten emails from a few of you wondering where I’ve been.
I’ve actually just been really busy. I haven’t gone anywhere. Enough about me, lets talk about a way you can earn some EASY cash for the holiday season. I can almost guarantee you haven’t heard of this technique before.
Here’s what I’ve been doing:
I’ve been creating small niche directory sites and flipping them to people in the local community as "business opportunities" because of the potential revenue they can bring in…not to mention #1 placement on the search engines.
Do some basic keyword research and find out what people are searching for in your local area. I pick a certain type of business niche that looks like it is popular I then check to see if the domain name is available for the best keyword. 8 out of 10 times it is, when dealing locally.
Lets say if you do some research and see that there are 1,200 avg searches per month of people looking for pizza shops in your area. Let’s say that one of the keyword phrases is: "Best Pizza Trenton, NJ"
Now check to see if that domain is available: www.bestpizzatrentonnj.com
Now check your competition using the in title: function in google and search for the keyword in quotes "best pizza trenton nj". Chances are your competition will be basically nothing. Easy rankings.
Pretty basic stuff, right?
Well here is the deal and what I’ve been doing to make money with this…
I create quick business directories in wordpress and get them to rank #1 on the search engines FAST. I then throw a few local businesses on there and put the website up for sale on craigslist for $300 – $800.
You’ll find that you’ll get a lot of different people contacting you… from the average person looking to start a business, retirees, and even small business owners.
BOTTOM LINE: People like ready made solutions. If you can throw together a quick website that has the potential to make money for its owner, then you will have people lined up at your door to buy the sites from you.
I just sold a restaurant directory last week for $300 to a real estate agent who was looking for something new to get into. He was filled with great ideas on what he wanted to do with my site. He was anxious to buy it!…

In web design for offline businesses, the money is really in the custom website designs…sometimes and if you can get over $2,000 for a custom design.
If I charge a client $1495 for a custom website design, chances are that I will put lots of looong hard hours into crafting the design until the client is happy with it. It sure is fun creating a custom website from scratch for a local business but I am running a business and I need to focus on what is more profitable for my business.
That is why I am no longer going to be offering custom website design to local businesses in my area. It takes too much time and most of the time the jobs end up going over budget because the client changes their mind a lot.
Instead I will be offering modified template websites to local businesses for half the cost of a custom design. Most of the businesses in my small town actually prefer these types of websites over the custom, because of the price.
Besides websites I will also be focusing more on Internet Video Commercials for local businesses and I am starting a local portal website for businesses in my county.
What made me choose to make this move? Well the local business portal will bring me residual income. Rather than working countless hours on developing a custom website and then the money stops when the site is done, I can get paid over and over again for the same website by different business owners…on my portal.
This is a big move for me and is indeed exciting. There are a lot more details that I cant talk about right now because I am just really busy. But stay tuned for more updates. I am also working on a local calendar with a continuity program worked into it and cant wait to tell you guys about that.
Collecting Payments from Your Offline Clients
By · Comments
As internet marketers we know the importance of the services we offer and the value they hold for offline local businesses. We know that the value we offer greatly outweighs the cost the business owner will have to invest out of pocket. However, most offline business owners are NOT internet marketing savvy and won’t see the value in what you’re offering…right away.
When we tell them it is going to be $495 for 3 internet videos, they are sometimes shocked and think the price is outrageous. They do not know the amount of time and thought put into the making, editing and promotion of that video to gain them local business.
So to finally get to the point…one method I’ve been using to help ease the price shock to a local business owner is to offer him a payment plan. Yes, thats right. Instead of charging your fee all up front, only require 1/4.
Collect the next 3/4 over the next 3-5 weeks. When you tell a business owner 4 payments of $123 instead of $495 they tend to ease up a bit.
I’ve also found it is easier to up sell them to other services later when you let them make payments. Make sure not to release your products/services 100% to the business owner until you receive full payment. Use a program like quickbooks to keep track of payments.
Online Video Crushes Local Competition!!
By · CommentsI am in absolute love with online video, especially when it’s used for local SEO purposes.
I just did TWO videos for a client about 1 week ago. I built the 2 videos around ONE search term that we where targeting that was pretty competitive with 20,000 competing sites that have been around for years.
Here we are a week later and I’ve got TWO front page google listings with our videos! My client’s video is at the number one spot beating out businesses that have held front page status for years. One of the business owners we beat even appears daily on our local news channel and is branded “the Internet Marketing Expert”. What a coincidence.
When building a killer local video SEO campaign there are a few key things you must do right to rank on the first page of google, fast!
-You MUST use tubemogul
-Focus on ONE major Keyword per video
-Use that keyword as the first words in your title followed by business name or video title
-Write a keyword rich relevant description with your website link the very first word
-Of course use your targetted keyword here and variations of it.
Thats basically how I get videos ranked fast on the front page of google…and not just locally!
